Over the weekend, Representative Sharice Davids (D-KS-03) joined local and national news programs to call out Kansas Republican leaders for caving to Donal Trump’s demands and pushing an unprecedented mid-decade redistricting scheme that would silence Kansas voters and rig the 2026 election in the President’s favor.

Davids made clear that the latest attempt to carve up Johnson County is nothing more than a power grab, breaking promises made in 2022 and ignoring the will of voters. Yet on the very same program, Senate President Ty Masterson admitted his intentions on redistricting, saying, “I don’t see why we wouldn’t take it up.”
