Kansas Farm Bureau’s VOTE FBF Endorses Representative Sharice Davids for the Kansas Third
Today, the Kansas Farm Bureau (KFB), through their Voters Organized to Elect Farm Bureau Friends (VOTE FBF) political action committee, endorsed Representative Sharice Davids for the Kansas Third Congressional District, recognizing her as a candidate who “understands agriculture and advocates on its behalf.”
As a member of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee, Davids has consistently engaged with farmers, ranchers, and producers throughout the Kansas Third, listening to their priorities and championing their interests in Washington, particularly during this year’s Farm Bill reauthorization process.
“I’m humbled to receive the endorsement of the Kansas Farm Bureau VOTE FBF,” said Davids. “Kansas farmers and ranchers are the backbone of our state, and I’m committed to ensuring their voices are heard in Washington. I’ll continue working to support our agricultural economy and the hardworking families who make it thrive.”
“Rep. Davids has worked to build relationships with our members across the 3rd District,” said Joe Newland, President, KFB. “From water conservation to her service on the House Agriculture Committee, Rep. Davids has sought the input of farmers and ranchers as part of her decision-making process. I’m confident she’s the right choice for agriculture and look forward to her re-election.”
Earlier this year, Davids hosted a conversation with U.S. Department of Agriculture Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small, former Kansas Senator Pat Roberts, KFB, and other local agriculture professionals to address the successes and challenges facing Kansas’ farmers and producers. Both Davids and Roberts urged Congress to overcome partisan gridlock and pass a bipartisan Farm Bill reauthorization that supports Kansas’ agricultural economy.
Davids also embarked on a Farm Bill listening tour, visiting a poultry and livestock operation in Anderson County, a co-op in Franklin County, a goat farm in Miami County, an organic vegetable farm in Johnson County, and an educational community farm in Wyandotte County. She also led efforts to protect water access for Kansas farmers.
KFB VOTE FBF is comprised of active farmer and rancher members elected by their peers from each of KFB’s 10 geographic districts. Since VOTE FBF’s inception in 1993, endorsed candidates have won their respective elections in more than 90 percent of races.
